Google Business Profile’s New Collected Info View: What to Check

Google’s new Collected info view gives eligible owners a source and date behind certain details. Here’s how to correct the right record and check the linked page.

Google Business Profile’s new Collected info view can show some owners where a detail came from and when Google gathered it. That makes a questionable detail easier to trace before you decide what needs changing.

Search Engine Land reported the rollout on September 14, 2026. Google’s official help page says availability is limited to select regions, languages and business categories. If the section is missing, it may simply be unavailable for that profile.

What Collected info shows

On a supported profile, open Edit profile, then Collected info. Google says entries can come from automated calls, texts or WhatsApp messages sent to the profile’s verified phone number. Answers from those interactions may be used to update the profile.

Use the source and collection date to work backward. Check who was handling the number then, what answer they gave and whether it still reflects the business. Treat this as a record of those interactions, rather than a report of everything Google found on the website.

Deleting the record and editing the profile are separate jobs

Deleting an item removes it from Google’s collected records. It does not change information already shown on the Business Profile. If the old answer appears in the hours, phone number, address, services or another live field, edit that field separately through the regular profile controls.

That’s the part that’s easy to miss. Removing an inaccurate collected item and correcting what customers see are separate actions. Before editing either one, settle the current answer inside the business so you do not replace one stale detail with another.

Follow the customer from Google to the page

After the records are sorted, open the public profile in Google Search or Maps. Check the hours, primary phone number, service area, current services and the action a customer is expected to take. Then use the website, appointment, menu or order link that applies.

Read the first linked page on a phone and confirm that it shows the same current offer and service area. Make sure the next step is obvious and that the call or appointment buttons work. A profile can be accurate and still send someone to an outdated page.

Our Landing Pages & Conversion work covers page design and copy plus the mobile experience. In this review, that means making sure the page reached from the Business Profile describes the current offer and gives the visitor a usable next step.

Keep the answer at the phone current

Because Google documents collection through the verified profile number, the person or system handling it needs a current answer. Keep a dated one-page reference with the hours, service area, appointment rules and active services. Update it after a meaningful business change and give it a brief monthly review.

Record which answer was confirmed, which profile field changed and which page changed. For multiple locations, keep the location-specific details separate. That small note makes a future mismatch much faster to trace.

Collected info gives you context for one detail. Finish the check in public: inspect the live profile, follow its link and confirm what a caller will hear. The job is done when each place reflects how the business works today.
